For those of you who just can’t wait to grab that new Boxee Box, PopBox, or don’t currently have an AppleTV, and would like to use a single HDMI cable to connect your Mac with a Mini DisplayPort to your shiny HDTV, the people over at Monoprice have just the device for you.

The Mini Displayport Male and USB Male Audio to HDMI Female Converting Adapter.  Click here to check it out.

Currently it is on sale for $37.94

There are a few benefits to this configuration.  Mainly that it uses USB for audio, which makes it a hell of a lot simpler for the mixing to HDMI, IMHO.  I am going to pick one up and let you know how it goes.

  • Supports resolutions up to 1080p
  • Cable is approximately 28″ long
  • This device is not Bidirectional.  It can only connect a Mini-DisplayPort source to an HDMI display.  It will not work in reverse.
