500x_AT_TMicroCell0If you haven’t heard, AT&T wants to do you a solid.  Use your home network, that you already pay for, and then charge you $20/mo to give you service you should already be getting for your home.  What a deal!  In fact, it is so fantastic that the only gimick that might incentivise you is to give you free unlimited calling!  Wow, what a bargain!  or you could just already have relatively unlimited calling for $20/mo by paying for more minutes and having the hundreds of rollover minutes add up, like I do.

Seriously?  Is this the best AT&T can do?

How about offering it as a hardware device, for $49, and then NOT charge you a monthly fee?  How about paying people $5/mo for it and then it will reduce the data load on the cells themselves?  How about making one that you can attach to a window and help provide local cell coverage for overloaded cells?

There has to be a different way.
